1) Show me a picture of your bookshelf!

I don’t have a bookshelf 😥 My books are scattered all over my home haha. But most of my books are in this container.

2) Name two books that you would/do recommend to everyone?

Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder. It’s so good and I recommend it all the time! If you’re even mildly interested in philosophy, then this is the book for you!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. It’s already a modern-day classic imho. Very pertinent read! Everyone needs to read this book.

3) Are there any songs that you associate with a particular story or characters?

Asleep performed by The Smiths always reminds me of  Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower ❤ I can’t listen to it without immediately thinking of him.
And of course,

La Bamba performed by Los Lobos reminds of Ari from Aristotle from Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I grew up listening to this song! It’s nostalgic but now whenever I listen to it I think of Ari since he mentioned quite a bit in the book.

4) Where is your favorite place to read?
The stairs in my house lol. The only place  I won’t fall asleep while reading.

5) Do your friends/family know that you have a blog?
Only my bff haha (Hi babe!)

6) How do you decide which book to read next?

So… this is my book box. It’s full of books that I really want to read soon. It’s conveniently located under my bed lol. Whenever I’m looking for a new read I look at my book box first and see if any of the books is calling to me. It’s simply based on feeling.

7) Do you have a favorite word? If so, what is it?
Eureka! No clue why but it puts a smile on my face.

8) Is there one particular blog post that you’re really proud of?
Um… I’m equally proud of all of them 🙂

9) Do you have any tattoos? If so, what?
Nope! But I want to get this (well, only the finch):

10) What book gave you the worst book hangover?

Slaughterhouse-Five  by Kurt Vonnegut!!! I went into a serious book slump. I put down every book I tried to read. It was MONTHS before I managed to read another book.

11) What are three things you always carry with yourself?

Besides my phone and wallet 😉 I always have a book and/or my kindle on me, a snack (because I go from not hungry to ravenous in .05 seconds), and my water bottle.

Well, that’s it. Once again, thank you Brittany! ❤

*I’ve been a little busier this week than usual so I’m not going to tag anyone today*

  1. Thats for linking back to me! I enjoyed reading your answers!! I like your shoe box of books under your bed 🙂 That is a great idea! I have my top TBR on their own little shelf but its seems like a so much better idea to have them close to where you sleep!

  2. Oh my God, finally, someone also has books in a container! We don’t all have bookshelves lol.

    Finch tat, yes. ❤️

I had no idea that Slaughterhouse 5 was the kind of book that would put you in a reading slump. Not even sure what it’s about but I need to read it one day, for sure.

The stairs, you know. Never heard that one before. Such an Aquarius, y’all are the true unicorns. 🦄 💜

I am 40 pages in on The Hate U Give and it’s just… shattered me. I feel numb. I don’t even know what else to say about it… and then to think that is the reality for so many people in America. I just can’t even put into words how the families of the people who have been affected by this are going through… I can’t believe this is the reality. And you’re right, it’s a read for everyone. No matter how heartbreaking it is, we must all read it.

    1. Lmao! The rest of my books are in smaller containers and inside my bedside table. Pretty much everywhere.

Slaughterhouse-5 messed me up. In a good way lol. It blew my mind. And everything else I tried to pick up afterwards couldn’t compare to Vonnegut’s genius.

When I sleep in bed, I fall asleep lol. Same thing when I read on the sofa. Before I know it, I’m laying down, falling asleep. So, the stairs it is! 😀

I knew you’d like The Hate U Give!! It’s scary but so damn real.

      1. So, Slaughterhouse isn’t as scary as the title suggests, right? Because right now all I have is disturbing images in my head lol.

Bro, how are you falling asleep just by reading? I cannot do that w/o meds loool.

I’m learning so much more about the Black Lives Matter movement, I was going to save it till next year but after your review, I was like damn I need to make it this year.

      2. No it’s not gruesome or anything like that lol. It’s a very strange book though 😉

Lmao!! I have no idea!! Because once I actually try to fall asleep I can’t. I have to read an old biology textbook to get even close to being sleepy lol.

Omg I still haven’t posted my review on here. Smh. I can’t wait to see the movie though! I hope they do the book and the movement justice!!

      3. It’s gotten such amazing reviews, and it’s a classic so yes, I will definitely be reading it one day.

Biology is very boring so yeah that makes sense lol.

I swear you did like a mini review somewhere? I definitely saw you recommend it.

    1. Lmao yes! It’s not the comfiest place but I fall asleep if I get comfortable while reading lol. Everyone just walks around me haha. Plus my dog is usually beside me, so when she moves to make room for someone I scoot over too, without having to take my eyes off my book. We have a system lmao

      1. HA HA HA! That’s amazing!!! And I understand the falling asleep if you’re too comfy.. I’ve been trying to find a better place to read, myself… I won’t be trying the stairs though… They’re wood. That’s a little TOO uncomfortable for me!
