Way back when, Booklook tagged me to do this tag. Thank you and sorry it took so long to get to haha.

Now, let’s do this!

1. How many books is too many books in a series?

I think anything more than 4 (If it’s YA or an adult series). Children’s books are different though. The more there are the better 😉

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

Ugh. Don’t get me started! I’m mad at Cassandra Clare for making me wait a year to find out what happens in her new novel after she left us with a killer cliffhanger. In conclusion, I hate them if and only if I have to wait forever to find out what happens!

3. Hardback or Paperback?

Paperback. Hardbacks are eye candy but not really convenient to actually read.

4. Favorite book?

My go-to answer is always The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. But I actually have a lot of favorites. A lot. Basically, if I own a physical copy of a book, then it’s a favorite.

5. Least favorite book?

Too Far by Rich Shapero.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

Yes haha. I’m a sucker for cheesy tropes.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Diarios de Motocicleta by Ernesto “Che” Guevara. It’s not that I couldn’t finish it haha but… it’s in spanish! Took me 3 weeks to get 36% through it. Then my library loan expired and I didn’t renew it. I haven’t given up on it yet though! It’s a work in progress 😉

8. A book that you’re currently reading?

Safe Haven by Nicolas Sparks. It’s…okay…

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

Summer Sisters by Judy Blume to my person & The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas to Sophski. (Holding my review of the latter for a special post…)

10. Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication Date)

Does the Iliad count??? You can’t really tell, but my copy is held together by tape haha

11. Newest book you’ve read? (Publication Date)

Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram. Expected publication date: August 28. It’s a wonderful book!! RTC closer to pub. date!

12. Favourite Author?

I always say Dostoyevsky haha. But again, I have so many. Jane Austen, Judy Blume, Marie Lu…

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

Borrowing.

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. I know, I know. But we didn’t click.

16. A book you can always reread?

Basically all of my favorites. This year I’ve reread 5 books!

17. Can you read whilst hearing music?

Nope. Too distracting. But I can read with the TV on!

18. One POV or multiple POV’s?

One POV. Sometimes I get confused if there are multiple viewpoints from similar sounding characters.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

Multiple days.

20. One book you read because of the cover?

A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis. The story is pretty interesting!

  1. Thanks for the tag! 😝
YA book series that is way beyond 3 books is a no go. But middle-grade, yep, agreed, give us more!
Oo, Little Women and The Kite Runner! They’re one of my favourites too. Little Women especially is timeless and will always be relevant. Maybe not so much the working part in this day and age but the distinctive characters in the book… there’s always one character we can relate to in this book. ☺️
My girl openly says she likes love triangles in the crowd of bookworms who hate them. 👏 love triangles when we care about the characters, yes, like Hunger Games… Katniss and Peeta 4eva. ❤️
Paha, the excitement for Safe Haven is unreal lol. Is it really that bad? All the romantics love it.
The Hate U Give will be happening this year!
Darius The Great Is Not Okay… if it’s anything like the title.. then count me excited!
Ive read some previews of David Sedaris and I just couldn’t get used to the way he writes. There’s something missing.
Who are these people that read in one sitting? How did they get that much free time?!

    1. Sometimes book series get way too long! Too much of a time commitment lol
Little Women is amazing! I remember the first time I read it I so wanted to be Jo haha.
I live for the drama lmao. Especially when love triangles are done right! Katniss and Peeta?! Oh no no no. Them is fighting words lol. I always liked her better with Gale. Maybe the movie skewed my thinking 😉
Safe Haven. Sigh. I’m not really enjoying the way it’s written. It’s a lot of telling and no showing. The story is okay though.
Darius is such a loveable nerd haha. He reminded me a bit of Simon from Simon vs. You just want to give them a hug and tell ’em it’s all going to be okay.
Maybe I don’t get David Sedaris’ humor? Idk. I didn’t like it. But apparently a lot of people in the blogosphere do because I’ve seen it mentioned a few times.
Right?! I can’t even get through a Nancy Drew book in one sitting. At some point I always have to set it down and come back to it later because I have to do something else.

      1. Yeah, they get way too long to the point you’re looking at them thinking “just shut up now will ya.” Lol.
Haha, why does everyone want to be Jo? 😂 Being Jo means a lot of confusion and being the odd one out. Meg is amazing, so steady. 💖
OMG, yes girl, why do people pretend that they don’t like drama? Drama gives us life man, it adds spice. Gale is serious, Katniss is serious, it’s too much seriousness. Maybe cos I’m a Peeta and have a crush on Katniss, that’s why I’m rooting for them. Gale is a safe option for Katniss, but Peeta and Katniss… I can just feel the love. There’s warmth there. Sunshine warmth. And… opposites attract!
Nicholas Sparks books are such a hit and miss. I think they are progressively getting worse… let me know when someone dies because someone always dies in his books.
I haven’t read Simon vs. yet… everyone loves it. I hope Darius isn’t an entitled nerd.
Sedaris has a very dry sense of humour, it’s not obvious kind of humour. That’s why you need to watch Impractical Jokers 😉

      2. Um excuse me Jo is the best! She’s a little rebel haha. Meg is too goody goody for my liking lol
Gale is serious lmao but he and Katniss have history! I was so upset when everything with the weapon designs happened because I knew they wouldn’t be able to overcome that smh.
        No one has died. Yet.
        Darius is sweet!
        Is it on Netflix?? Lol

  2. I love this tag! Everyone always has the most interesting answers for it and you’re no exception. One book series that will never be too long for me: Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson books. He kind of does spin offs as the books continue, so it never feels like the concept is getting tired!

  3. Cliffhangers inside a book are great. (Although, not when you really need to get to sleep!) Cliffhangers between books is not so great. Especially when you have to wait a year for the next book to come out. By then I’ve forgotten too much to enjoy the series!

  4. I agree with a previous commenter re: The Idiot. No one talks about that book, and I always forget about it. I think I’ll put it on hold at the library.

Also, I agree when it comes to cliffhangers that are never resolved. It’s just not fair, man!
